Tasting experience
As an Espresso, this shot is outstandingly similar to a Port wine. The aromas of orange zest and sweet grapes perfumes off its crema as a subtle warming smell and hint of woodsiness seals the overall flavour perception and experience like a warm body. Sweet grapes, Citrus, Woodsy and Memorable. Great as a winey finish. As it cools, the flavour mellows out to chocolate and a pronounced taste of Figs.
Farm Information
Area on the slopes of Mt Elgon in the Bugisu sub-region in Eastern Uganda. Enriched in the soils of high altitude & rich rainfall, this lot is spoilt for resources and room for growth. Resourcefulness & quality of the plant is now up to the farmer's decision to process it through natural or wet processed means. Rich soil & vanguard longitudinal growth of crops with intercropping vegetation helps with the balance in the environment and nutritional balance, leading to an overall more nutritious & delicious coffee as no element of malnutrition in a certain area of bean and flavour development is restricted.

To be fair it is if you read the "Tasting Experience" and on the bag, but I was going off the other section. I got the bag and was surprised it said "Woodsy" on the bag.

It was a little challenging to dial in this bag of beans initially, but after that the flavours are fairly consistent, even if a little muted in my opinion. As an espresso this tastes a little on the brighter side but it works well with milk.

Very interesting bag of beans. As an espresso it’s bright and has a nice body, but in a cortado it can be richly chocolatey.

Packaging was faultless and airtight. Coffee was wonderful, great as a drip with woody earthy aromas, smooth mouthfeel and a sweet aftertaste. Reliable cowpresso as always!

Nicely roasted, and affordable. Espresso had somewhat of a potato/groundnut note on the first few days after roast, but this quickly blew off to reveal a scent of orange zest after the first week.

Lovely flavours, exactly as described. It took a few shots to get it right though. I had to dial way down just a touch before the burrs hit. It needs a really fine grind. I was over-extracting for the first few shots when I ground them at my previous bag Golden Cup’s grind size. Take note: it’s almost 2 units finer on a Eureka Mignon. However, once you achieve it, it’s good, well worth it.
